Winter Landscapes with Takeyce Walter

December 13, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Students participating in this one-day workshop will explore the techniques often used in painting a winter scene.

Preregistration is required to attend all classes and workshops at Arlene’s. Space is limited so please register soon. Click the link to register online. Otherwise, please come into the store, at 57 Fuller Rd Albany NY, or call us, (518) 482-8881, to reserve your space.

Winter scenes can be some of the most beautiful paintings, but can also be one of the trickiest color compositions to master. Students participating in this one-day workshop will explore the techniques often used in painting a winter scene. The emphasis of this workshop will be on techniques using soft neutral hues, introducing and using appropriate color to develop engaging winter compositions. A complete supply list can be found on our website. This workshop is designed for students of all levels and all media. Takeyce will be working with pastels and/or oils to provide demos, and students will be provided with one-on-one feedback, reference material, and assignments to practice the techniques learned at home. There will also be a critique at the end of class to review the work completed. A supply list will be provided upon registration and supplies are not included in the cost of the workshop.

Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene’s. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
