EVERY 1ST WEDNESDAYDISCUSSION GROUP & OPEN MICPoetry Night is sponsored by Youth Harbor, a new Saratoga-based non-profit organization that provides space for tweens and teens with mental and emotional challenges to support one another in living creative, healthy lives.POETRY DISCUSSION GROUP6 PM TO 7 PMSPONSORED BY SARATOGA SPRINGS PUBLIC LIBRARYALL AGES WELCOME / FREEWarm up for Open Mic and get to know some fellow poetry lovers as Mary Ann Rockwell of Saratoga Springs Public Library leads a conversation about the work of a particular poet. No advance preparation needed. Poems will be provided. SSPL will also display books from their poetry collection in Lena’s lobby and library card holders will be able to check them out on site.This month we’ll look at poems, both rueful and joyful, about leaving an old year and welcoming the new.POETRY OPEN MICSIGN-UP 7 PM / READINGS 7:30 – 9:30 PMADULTS $5 / STUDENTS FREEHOSTED BY CAROL GRASERTwo short poems (less than one page) or one longer poem, with a limit of 5 minutes altogether.A featured poet(s) reads for 20 minutes. Featured poets are booked by host Carol Graser. Generally, our features are established, published poets and/or have made significant public contributions to the regional poetry scene.FEATURED POETFEBRUARY: SUSAN E. ORINGELSusan E. Oringel is a published poet, writer, teacher of creative writing, and psychologist.
