New York Folklore Announces Exhibit Opening

January 26 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Free

Artist and life-long West Fulton resident Mark Swanberry has an exhibit of his copper wall sculptures, Inspiration in Nature, this winter and spring at New York Folklore, located at 129 Jay Street on the pedestrian mall in downtown Schenectady.  There will be an artist reception with light refreshments on Sunday, January 26 from 11AM to 3PM.

Mark has always found inspiration in nature, going back to an early age when he learned of plants, animals and patience from his grandfather, who enlightened him to Nature.  Mr. Swanberry satisfied his creative cravings by building with local fieldstone.  He made stone masonry his career in his late teens.  Mark eventually began to work with copper, creating crafts and wall sculptures.  As is evident in his work, his inspiration is still taken from nature, emulating shapes and textures with his own interpretation.

The exhibit Inspiration in Nature will be at New York Folklore from January 26 through May 31, 2020.  New York Folklore is open 10AM to 3:30PM, Tuesday through Saturday, and will resume its Sunday hours (10AM to 2PM) in March.  Please contact us at info@nyfolklore.org, by telephone at 518-346-7008, or through our web site, www.nyfolklore.org for additional information.
