Design Your Own Chocolates with Becca Flis
February 7 @ 11:00 am - February 8 @ 4:00 pm
Preregistration is required to attend all classes and workshops at Arlene’s. Space is limited so please register soon. Click the link to register online. Otherwise, please come into the store, at 57 Fuller Rd Albany NY, or call us, (518) 482-8881, to reserve your space.
Have you ever wanted to customize your own chocolates for yourself or a special someone? Now you can! On day one of this class students will sculpt their chocolate designs using non-toxic clay. They will learn about undercuts and what makes a good chocolate mold. Then they will mix and pour food-safe rubber around their designs, thus creating a personalized chocolate mold. On day two, students will open their molds and prepare them for chocolate casting. Dark chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate, even butterscotch baking chips can be melted down and poured into the mold. You can even use your mold to make ice cubes! Please note that due to the introductory nature of this workshop chocolate forms are limited to roughly 2 in cubed. Supplies are included in the cost of this workshop.
Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene’s. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
