Create Your Own Holiday Cards: Winter Birch Tree with Kevin Kuhne
December 14, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Preregistration is required to attend all classes and workshops at Arlene’s. Space is limited so please register soon. Click the link to register online. Otherwise, please come into the store, at 57 Fuller Rd Albany NY, or call us, (518) 482-8881, to reserve your space.
This course is designed for the beginning student and beyond. The focus will be on creating beautiful small birch trees in winter settings. Various techniques will be presented, including one of Kevin’s favorite watercolor techniques: scraping away whites and lights with a palette knife or cut-up credit card. We will do some realistic pencil and monochromatic watercolor studies of birch tree trunks, before talking about color triads and choosing colors, and practice the palette knife technique. After we get about 3 to 5 small paintings done, Kevin will demonstrate cutting and mounting them on fancy colored border paper and card-stock. Bockingford watercolor paper, decorative border papers, card-stock, and 2-sided paper will be provided. A supply list will be provided upon registration and supplies are not included in the cost of the workshop.
Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene’s. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
