Ginuwine, NY Players and Freedom Stratton Kicks Off the Capital Concert Series Wednesday
The Capital Concert series kicks off this Wednesday, August 4th at 5 p.m. at the Empire State Plaza. R&B icon Ginuwine will be in Albany to set the series off with an energetic start. The best part is…it’s free! Ginuwine is a multiplatinum-selling singer, songwriter, dancer and actor whose career began in the early ’90s with Swing Mob, a label based in Rochester NY, where he met Timbaland. Timbaland would later produce the hit Ginuwine record, “Pony.” Ginuwine signed to epic records and rose to stardom throughout the late 1990s, maintaining his place at the top of the charts through the 2000s. Ginuwine has sold nearly 10 million records in the U.S.
The show will be hosted by DJ TGIF (HYP3 Fest) have two opening acts. The first opener, New York Players, is billed as “New York’s party and dance experts.” This entertainment powerhouse is sure to put on a great set.
Albany artist Freedom Stratton, who recently released a project with Substream Records (Sony / The Orchard), will be rocking the stage right before Ginuwine. Freedom’s smooth R&B vocals, high-energy songs, and stage presence are sure to catch your attention. This local rising Pop/R&B star will warm the crowd up perfectly for the R&B legend.
