LIVE: Blackcat Elliot @ Ancient Order of Hibernians Hall in Watervliet, 07/17/2021
Go to a rock show they said, it will be fun they said. Well the sarcasm proved true this time as Brother T, Blackcat Elliot, and The Erotics invaded the Ancient Order of Hibernians Hall in Watervliet. As I walked in, The setting was a banquet hall, with the band setup on the far wall. Plenty of room and tables. Tables lined the far walls with plenty of band swag on them. I know I know, Get to the point. So the Blackcat Elliot review. Got it.
Blackcat took the stage and started rolling. They didn’t stop until their last song. This was their first gig post pandemic and you couldn’t tell. Normal live show hiccups, but they showed no signs of rust. Gus was shredding on that Telecaster like it owed him money. Fast Eddie spot on on the bass and “The Dragon” Marky Balboa keeping time on the skins. These guys ROCKED!! There were 2 times where Gus said they were gonna slow it down. I must have missed both times. Fluid set and the crowd definitely reflected that. We were handed The Ramones “Sheena was a punk rocker”, A Clash tune, and all the Blackcat originals you can handle including the staple in their arsenal, Turn It. Blackcat even gave us 2 new songs, and they sounded killer.
Once again Blackcat Elliot didn’t disappoint. Their live shows are always high energy and alot of pure rock and roll. Gus has a command of the crowd and his stage presence is right there. The other boys are no slouches either, keeping the time and holding it down. If you’ve never seen Blackcat Elliot live, I highly recommend you do. They never disappoint.
