Photo Gallery: The 2nd Annual Eddie Awards UPH Saratoga Springs, 5/2/2021

Normalcy in the 518 music world is slowly returning. The 2nd Annual “Covid-delayed” Eddies Awards were presented on May 2nd at the UPH in Saratoga to an extremely small live audience and streamed for many in the 518 to enjoy through multiple avenues including ROKU, Apple TV, YouTube, and local cable access stations and underwritten by Key Bank.

This brainchild of Sal Prizio and Jim Murphy of the Proctor’s Collaborative is the celebration of the diverse talent and variety of music found in the 518.

The show was emceed by multitalented Garland Nelson, who kept the audience lively with his antics and hat changes. He also performed as a musician with a spirited cover of Stevie Wonder’s chestnut “Living in the City”.

Four musical acts represented our native 518 talent:

  • Garland Nelson (soul/r&b)
  • Marty Wendell (country)
  • Promise the “Unbreakable”( hip hop/poetry)
  • Jocelyn & Chris Arndt (rock)

There were four panel discussions moderated by WEXT’s Andy Gregory and WEQX’s Jeff Morad on how the 518 music community dealt with the forced shutdown.

Rather than publish the list of nominees and winners which have been published elsewhere here is a gallery of photos that capture the event and the personalities.

The 518 music scene will return.
