March ‘Music’ Madness is down to two — Girl Blue and Glass Pony
Two have entered. One will leave.
March ‘Music’ Madness is now down to two — Girl Blue and Glass Pony.
Both bands are will be featured in a streaming event hosted by High Peaks Event Production Thursday night on the Nippertown, High Peaks, Spot 518 and WEXT Radio’s Facebook pages.
This week’s virtual one-on-one features two of some of the most popular acts in the local scene.
Arielle O’Keefe’s solo acts as Girl Blue showcase her intimate songwriting style. She possesses a distinct singing voice that flows from conversation to something of a songbird as it flutters in range.
Glass Pony is a four-piece band that plays what they call a high-energy, psychedelic groove circus. It’s a trip once heavily supported by Ominous Seapods bassist Tom Pirozzi.
Last week’s was close, but when the dust settled the final four became the final two and Bad Mothers and Candy Ambulance were eliminated, and only Girl Blue and Glass Pony remained.
The winner will get three days in the studio, engineering, equipment usage, and consultation from White Lake Music and Post in Albany and the runner-up gets four hours at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall (where both of Albany Symphony’s Grammy awarded performances were recorded).
Third and fourth place finishers received $100 each, and the opportunity to play a live stream at the Palace Theatre with the top two places.
Fifth through eighth place receives $50. Nippertown is going to offer each of them the opportunity to do a private live stream at Albany’s newest private venue, the Jive Hive.
Remember to support the artists, visit their Bandcamp, website, or social media links and listen to their music prior to voting.
