About the Bands:
Dust Bowl Fairies duet (Ryder Cooley and Jon B. Woodin) play a unique variety of dark carnival dream music on accordion, singing saw and acoustic guitar. Hailing from the New York Hudson Valley, the band was founded by artist Ryder Cooley and Hazel, a taxidermy ram who performs with the band as their mascot spirit animal. The faeries’ eclectic repertoire of songs draws inspiration from circus, post-punk and Eastern European folk music. The Dust Bowl Faeries quintet recently released a new album, The Plague Garden, along with a new video, Candy Store, produced and directed by Lisa M. Thomas of Thin Edge Films. Previously, the ensemble released two EP’s, Beloved Monster and The Dark Ride Mixes, and a self-titled debut album, produced by music critic Seth Rogovoy, featuring Tommy Stinson (Replacements) & Melora Creager (Rasputina).

Lorkin O’Reilly is a Scottish acoustic singer-songwriter from Edinburgh, Scotland. Since immigrating to the United States in 2014, O’Reilly has made a name for himself as a commanding new songwriter. His unique approach blends old-country open tunings with poetic and personal reflections. His writing portrays not only his own reality, but experiences faced by most of us: the purgatory between childhood and adulthood, between new home and old home and the overarching struggle of finding a new identity. His early musical education was influenced by the sounds of his mother’s native land, Ireland. Using a variety of finger-picking styles, his songs convey stories of an immigrant’s journey. Lorkin O’Reiley’s work turns tragedy, humor and loss into songs that explore the gamut of human emotion. He has released two EP’s, one album and is signed to Team Love Records.

About the Venue:
“On March 13th, Helsinki Hudson joined the nation-wide closure to the events and performance industry that continues. When performances stop, income stops for all including full and part time employees and the countless artists that regularly play on the stage. This has created an unprecedented hardship, but we are still hanging in there.” said Deb McDowell, Co-Owner and Founder of Helsinki Hudson. “The assumption is that we will be one of the last ones to get our lives back on track. Club Helsinki supports national organizations like Red Alert Restart and Save our Stages and we look forward to the day we can continue our good work.”
