The Attic Classic band was originally forged as Mystik Hayz, and had a song included on ‘The Metaluna Syndrome’ in 1987, a compilation of local hard rock and heavy metal bands produced by MCE Records. Not long after, the band was retooled and came out recast as the 5-piece metal band Maxx Thrust, featuring heavy riffs and high-pitched melodic vocals.
The band focused on writing original material, over the years developing a large local fan base, notoriously known as “Thrusters,” which led to showcase shows and opening for many national acts.
During the 1980’s the band recorded many of their most popular songs. Recently, the tape recordings were digitally remixed and remastered, and an eight track CD ‘Forged In Metal‘ was released by the band in 2020. Our Attic Classic is “Psych Tonight,” the lead track from that disc.
