1861: Samuel Goodale patented the moving picture peep show machine.
1940: Glenn Miller and his band recorded “Tuxedo Junction.”
1953: The Walt Disney’s film “Peter Pan” opened at the Roxy Theatre in New York City.
1957: Bill Haley arrived in London for his first British tour. He was the first American rock star to tour there and was met by about 4,000 fans at Heathrow Airport.
1962: Ringo Starr played his first performance with The Beatles at Liverpool’s Cavern Club.
1981: Joni Mitchell was inducted into Canada’s Juno Hall of Fame.
2018: Paul Simon announced his final tour, the Homeward Bound Tour.
