Top Tips for Live Music (for the week beginning December 7th)
It’s clearly a very tough time, with Covid cases spiking the highest yet here in the Capital District (and in most of the US). There is light at the end of the tunnel with vaccines starting to arrive soon, but (in the meantime) our local venues and artists continue to find ways to bring music to you. Nanola has socially distanced live music several nights a week, with the Deadbeats every Wednesday. High Peaks Productions, WEQX, and others have launched an excellent “Hope for the Holidays” series of live (virtual) shows every Saturday, starting with Jocelyn and Chris. And Caffe Lena, the Linda, Troy Music Hall, the 8th Step, Old Songs, The Egg, Proctors, and the Palace are all presenting (virtually) live shows (some local, some global) of awesome artists. This only works if you contribute…grab your favorite beverage, turn on a show, and let it be the backdrop to your holidays. Whatever you can contribute goes a long way to supporting an industry that has been absolutely decimated since March.

Best bet: 3 hours of moe on Friday. 2 sets, plus encores. Plus additional footage. All filmed in the lobby of the Palace. Proceeds split between the band and the Palace. C’mon…$20 brings that into your home. It’s a no-brainer…
