What’s happening at Caffe Lena August 31 to September 11
Due to COVID-19 Caffe Lena has been offering live stream Stay Home Sessions. You, your friends and/or family can plan to get together online while listening to these great and fascinating musicians. Caffe Lena is America’s longest running folk music venue and has been recognized by the Library of Congress and GRAMMY foundation. Founded in 1960 by the late Lena Nargi Spencer, Caffe Lena has showcased many musicians from Bob Dylan to Sawyer Fredericks.
This week with Caffe Lena they will be live streaming on YouTube, Rick’s Picks Local Showcase: Jackie Dugas and Slam Reed. Hosted by Rick Bolton, the live stream will air Monday August 31 at 7pm. Every Monday at 7pm please be sure to join Rick Bolton’s showcase to see which musicians he will be featuring on YouTube at caffelena.org.
Also on Monday at 7pm, Caffe Lena School of Music will be providing a beginning guitar class with Marcy Marxer via Zoom.
On Wednesday, September 2 at 7pm, there will be three events held: a poetry segment will be live streamed on YouTube featuring poets Bernadette Mayer, Bertha Rogers and Daniel Curley,
Beginning Clawhammer with Cathy Fink and Blues Guitar with Guy Davis both via zoom.
On Thursday September 10th, a band called The End of America will perform live on YouTube at 7pm.
On Friday September 11, musicians Kieran Kane and Rayna Gellert will go live at 8pm to perform as well.
