Discover Albany launches video series highlighting local places
Discover Albany has launched a new video series, ‘Discover My Albany’, featuring Albany locals bringing viewers to their favorite places throughout Albany County. The series started on Tuesday and will release a new video to the Discover Albany Facebook page over the next five weeks.
Each video’s host brings viewers to five must-see locations around Albany County with insight on menu recommendations to secret hidden patios and even historic context. A new host is revealed weekly in each new video.
“There is so much to see and do in Albany County, and we really want our visitors and residents to feel welcome to explore the area, — whether it’s a traditional tourist attraction or something off the beaten path,” said Jill Delaney, president and CEO of Discover Albany. “What better tour guides can we offer than our local friends who love to live, work and play here! That’s why we came up with the Discover My Albany campaign. We even learned a few things ourselves in the process!”
Kicking off the series is Alyssa Lotmore highlighting local shops, restaurants, and parks in the first episode of the series. Lotmore, a lifelong Albany resident, chose some locations that she had only recently discovered, emphasizing places ‘hidden in plain sight.’
All ‘Discover My Albany’ videos were filmed after the Capital Region entered Phase Four of the governor’s reopening plan. All participants involved the production of this video series were compliant with COVID-19 safety guidelines.
