Produced by NYC-based producer Chris Sclafani (whose engineering talents have helped propel hit tracks from Ed Sheeran, Benny Blanco, Selena Gomez, Gwen Stefani and more), Stardust’s sparkling opening piano riffs build into a pop/rock powered statement of our collective connectedness and reminder of our personal power, with Kubinski’s vocals ranging from intimate breathy inquiries, to the soaring pop/theatre vocals she is known for.
Stardust is already gaining steam in the music world, with gaming app company Fan Powered Music selecting the track as its featured song for a recent contest launch, airplay on WSBS 94.1 FM (Berkshires), and thousands of Pandora spins in its first weeks of release.
An official music video for Stardust was shot in Boulder, Colorado in July and is expected to release in September.
A remix of Stardust in collaboration with popular yoga DJ Taz Rashid (who has performed at Wanderlust, Bhakti Fest, Yoga Journal Conference, Sound/Off Yoga, Kripalu and more) will arrive August 21. Music fans can Pre-Save the track on Spotify here.
A music video featuring submitted videos from yogis nationwide flowing to the song is currently in production, and will celebrate the yoga community coming together despite Covid distancing measures still in place.
Stardust arrives on the heels of Kubinski’s cover of Jason Mraz’s song Back to the Earth, which she fully recorded and released from quarantine, recording vocals in her closet in Saratoga Springs. A “quarantine style” music video for Back to the Earth is in the works featuring scenes shot in Saratoga Spa State Park. Back to the Earth received coverage on Medium, CelebMix, and Divine Magazine.
Piano man Billy Joel has this to say about Kubinski:Billy Joel
“Cassandra Kubinski is very similar to the singer/songwriters of the late 70’s…proves that the genre (singer/songwriter) can still be transcendent.”
Kubinski’s last EP, Dreams, featured singles and music videos You Get Me, which helped raise over $25,000 for animal rescue charities like the Humane Society of NY, Howl of a Dog, Helping Lost Pets and More, and Welcome to the World, a lullaby-like acoustic track penned for Kubinski’s niece upon her birth.
Kubinski’s previous EPs, Holiday Magic and Onward, charted at #46 and #97 respectively on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. She has performed with or opened for the likes of the Goo Goo Dolls, 10,000 Maniacs, Caroline Jones, Hudson Taylor, Dickie Betts, Anna Nalick, Jill Sobule and more, at venues from Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs to Barclays Center in NYC.. Her music has been licensed to TV shows from ABC to NBC, including 13 placements on hit show Dance Moms, which led to millions of views on user-uploaded videos of her songs on Youtube. Songs from Holiday Magic played alongside hit artists on Pandora’s Mariah Carey Holiday Radio, Today’s Hits Holiday Radio, and Sia Holiday Radio throughout the 2018 holiday season. She was also the bandleader (with Tony Daniels in the band) for seasons 1 and 2 of Emmy-winning new media talk show The Never Settle Show with Mario Armstrong.
