Glad to be back shooting bands that leave my ears ringing; My kind of music.

Let’s go back in time a little before the whole world changed. Almost a year ago at Chrome Food and Spirits in Waterford. On November 29th, I shot one of my first shows ever. I had asked a friend of mine if I could shoot photography for his band The Clay People who were opening for Light the Torch that night. He graciously said yes. I decided to show up early and try to talk to the opening band, Faced, and see if I could take pics for them as well.

As I walked into Chrome Food and Spirits the whole band just happened to be sitting at their merch table. I walked over and told them I was new to shooting live photography and that I was hoping to get some shots while they were playing. They said, “of course”! Faced was formed by lead guitarist Jordan, Bassist Paul, and Drummer Jay in 2017. Phil, the lead vocalist joined soon after but Faced members have been playing in bands with Phil since 1999. I had never heard of them before that night so I was excited to see how they sounded and I was blown away. Jordan said some of his biggest influences are Dimebag Darrell and King Diamond. Phil on the other hand says he is deeply rooted in the underground scene and Local Legends of Hardcore and Punk.

Fast forward to July 25th; Faced performed once again, only this time not in front of live fans. A live stream was held to raise money for Chrome Food and Spirits during these hard times. Chrome has held shows for dozens of metal bands in the past which is great to see since some venues tend to shy away from heavier music. Faced played a half-hour set which comprised of their new album “Second Coming”. The album was mixed by Sterling Winfield who has worked with bands such as Pantera, Damage Plan, and King Diamond. It was mastered by Howie Weinberg who has worked with bands such as Metallica.

Faced’s set that night was wild and their energy was intense. They played as if they were playing for a crowd of thousands. You can tell this band is a group of friends that just likes to have fun, get out for a great cause, and play some F*CKING metal.
