Gentle Giant reunites virtually to perform

The COVID crisis has generated many online reunions and performances of both established and emerging musicians. In the subcategory “Legendary and Obscure”, Gentle Giant, a band from the seventies will be staging a reunion of sorts.

The band has not played together since 1980 and no they are not planning to get together again. Band alumni along with special guests from the prog rock and pop world will be performing the highly complex composition, “Proclamation,” over a video that took several months to produce.

Along with founding members, the Shulman Brothers and various other alumni of the band, special guests will include Jako Jakszyk (vocalist, bass King Crimson), Billy Sherwood & Lee Pomeroy (Yes/Steve Hackett).

The video for “Proclamation” will premiere onLoudersound.com/prog on Wednesday July 15th at 2PM. Hopefully it will be kept on the site or YouTube.

P.S. There is a local connection to this band, They opened for Renaissance on their “Novella” tour at the Palace Theater in 1977.
