Opalka Gallery to host Take Out Beer Garden this Saturday June 20th
The Opalka Gallary is hosting a special Pop Up Beer Garden this Saturday, June 20th from 5-8 pm. The event is curbside friendly, giving neighbors a chance to support local business, enjoy live music and make donations to the South End’s Children Cafe. This Father’s Day weekend, customers will be able to pick up gourmet pizza kits from Navona Restaurant, a growler of craft beer from Rare Form Brewing, and artisan ice pops from Market Pops, and to participate in a mail-in art project and donate to the South End Children’s Cafe.
All pizza kits, ice pops and beer must be pre-ordered on Restaurantnavona.com from now until June 18th, with scheduled pick up times to avoid long wait times. Customers must wear masks when they come to pick up their orders. Live music will be provided by, The Magdalens, a local Albany band which will also be live-streamed via WEXT 97.7/106.1 radio.
Opalka Director, Judie Gilmore, says, “Though we would love to gather in person with our neighbors and friends, this Beer-Garden-in-a-Box is designed with safety in mind, but will still allow us to support local restaurants and craft beer makers who have been hard hit by the recent closures AND to give people an opportunity to support and express solidarity with families in Albany’s South End. It’s a WIN-WIN-WIN.”
The Opalka Gallery is located on Russell Sage’s College Albany Campus at 140 New Scotland Ave, Albany, NY 12208.
