What’s not to love? Each Valentine’s Day, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival is thrilled to announce its preliminary lineup. The much-loved, family-friendly event will take place July 15-19, 2020, on the Walsh Farm in Oak Hill, NY, a historic hamlet in the Catskills. A yearly pilgrimage for serious bluegrass fans, Grey Fox attracts music lovers from 30-some states and a dozen countries worldwide.  Most performance venues are tented for extra protection from Mother Nature, and whether artists are performing on main stages, delivering intimate workshops, or moving listeners to get up and dance, Grey Fox is an experience not-to-be-missed for every generation.

The lineup begins with this year’s Artist-in-Residence, Jerry Douglas, the GRAMMY, CMA, and IBMA award winning Dobro player, bandleader, composer, and music producer. Douglas will spend July 16, 17, and 18 sitting in with friends, asking bluegrass greats to join him on stage, and performing with his own all-star ensemble.

The all-star lineup continues with the likes of The Del McCoury Band, The Infamous Stringdusters, Railroad Earth, Yonder Mountain String Band, Cape Breton favorites Natalie MacMaster & Donnell Leahy, Della Mae, Peter Rowan’s Free Mexican Airforce featuring Los Texmaniacs, Sierra Hull, 2020 Grammy winner for best bluegrass album Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Ireland’s We Banjo 3, Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, banjo master Alison Brown, Buenos Aires-based Che Apalache, Town Mountain, Charm City Junction, Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley, Compton and Newberry, Fireside Collective, U.S. Navy Band Country Current, Mark Schatz and Bryan McDowell, Stillhouse Junkies The Wildmans (whose young banjoist won this year’s Steve Martin Award for Excellence in Banjo), Circus No. 9., Giri and Uma Peters, Grain Thief, and Serene Green. For decades, Grey Fox has been hosted by one of the most entertaining traditional bluegrass band’s in the business – Dry Branch Fire Squad – and they’ll be back with road stories, great repertoire, and one of the best Sunday morning gospel shows ever. Many more artists, including some exciting headliners, will be announced soon.
