Snowy Trees: Family Painting Event at Albany Institute of History and Art Dec 27
Looking for a fun way to connect with your child and enjoy creating art during the holiday break? Look no further: The Albany Institute of History and Art has you covered with Snowy Trees: A Family Painting Program. Held December 27th, painters ages 6 and up can join a family member to create a meaningful art piece.
This special paint workshop is a great parent child bonding opportunity. Artists will take their artistic inspiration from the Walter Launt Palmer painting, “White World” currently on view in the museum galleries.
Together painters will create their own snowy scene as they experiment with adding texture (impasto effect) to the work and explore tints of color to our own vibrant winter scenes. Our Director of Art Programs will lead the group through the process of creating their own masterpieces on canvas board to bring home.
All painters must register, and can do so here. Tuition includes art materials and museum admission, and costs $20 for members of the Institute, and $25 for non members. Accompanying adults are required to stay on the museum premises. For more information about the paint workshop contact Sarah Clowe at 518-463-4478 ext. 435.
