Shostakovich Series: Parker Quartet at Skidmore September 28
The Grammy award-winning Parker Quartet is known for luminous sound and exceptional musicianship. They will perform Shostakovich Quartet No. 9 in E-flat major, and Quartet No. 11 in F minor.
Shostakovich was a Russian composer and pianist who is widely regarded as one of the most important musicians of his generation. Living from 1906 – 1975, his work is highly regarded for his use of art to subvert unethical politics of his time.
The Parker Quartet will be in residence at Skidmore this fall, and should not be missed. Tickets are $8 for adults, with children and students offered free admission.
The performance will begin at 7 pm at the Zankel Music Center on the Skidmore College campus.
