Troy Savings Bank Music Hall Announces New Concert
M is Black Enough exercises spirited conversation and debate through steelpan, cello, text and voice. Kronos Quartet’s cellist Jeffrey Zeigler teams up with composer-percussionist Andy Akiho, poet Roger Bonair-Agard and percussionist Sean Dixon for a work-in-progress program of spoken word and music, both complex and aggressive. Slam poetry meets new music in this electrifying and thought-provoking program of music and words presented by these spectacular contemporary performers.
Tickets are on sale now, priced at $15; students $5.
M is Black Enough will also offer a special student performance at 3:45pm on Tuesday, February 5. The ensemble will perform three tracks and give a demonstration of their individual instruments. Following the performance, members will talk about their respective pathways into the creative, composing and performance industry and how MiBE came about. Tickets for this special students-only performance, but reservations are required. Contact Tia at 518-273-0038 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more info or to make reservations for student groups.
