The Egg has added three new shows to its 2019 “American Roots & Branches” concert series. Tickets for the new concerts are currently available exclusively to members of The Egg and will go on sale to the general public at 11am on Friday (January 4). Details of the concerts are as follows: AN EVENING WITH STEVE EARLE Thursday, February 28, 7:30pm $45 & $55 Steve Earle has turned many musical corners – as a folk troubadour, a rockabilly raver, a contemplative bluesman, a honky-tonk rounder, a snarling rocker and a bluegrass practitioner. A definitive Americana artist who has won three Grammy Awards, Steve Earle will perform music from all aspects of his illustrious career in this solo acoustic concert. THE ROBERT CRAY BAND With Joe Louis Walker Wednesday, March 13, 7:30pm $34.50, $38.50 & $44.50 Two contemporary blues masters bring their soulful vocals, stinging guitar solos and smoking hot bands to The Egg for this electrifying double bill. Robert Cray has been bridging the lines between blues, soul and R&B for the past four decades, with five Grammy wins, a Blues Hall of Fame inductee, recipient of the Americana Lifetime achievement award, countless tours and more than 20 acclaimed albums. The boundary-pushing powerhouse of modern blues Joe Louis Walker will open the show. JOAN OSBORNE SINGS THE SONGS OF BOB DYLAN Saturday, June 22, 8pm $38.50 Joan Osborne burst on the scene over 20 years ago with her album Relish and the smash hit “One Of Us,” scoring seven Grammy nominations. She has since demonstrated her versatility as a singer with recordings of blues, soul, rock and country music – touring with Mavis Staples, the Funk Brothers, The Dead and Trigger Hippy. Now the artist who has been acclaimed as “the most gifted vocalist of her generation and a singer who understands the nuance of phrase, time and elocution,” lends her soulful voice to the rich songbag of Bob Dylan.
