The Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls is playing host to a two-night stand by Jethro Tull guitarist Martin Barre at 8pm on Friday & Saturday, April 12 & 13. Barre’s Jethro Tull Show will not only feature his regular band – Dan Crisp on lead vocals, Alan Thomson on keyboards, Darby Todd on drums and Becca Langsford and Ali Hart on vocals – but also two additional Jethro Tull alumni, Jonathan Noyce and Clive Bunker. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $50.
From bluegrass to the blues… A batch of March concerts have been added to the calendar for Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, including mandolin virtuoso Jacob Jolliff (Yonder Mountain String Band, Joy Kills Sorrow) and his band at 8pm on Friday, March 1 ($24 in advance; $26 at the door); Dead Horses & Honeysuckle at 8pm on Saturday, March 9 ($18 in advance; $20 at the door); two shows by mandolin phenom Sierra Hull at 4 & 7pm on Sunday, March 10 ($38 in advance; $40 at the door), a St, Patrick’s Day reunion of Donnybrook Fair at 7pm on Sunday March 17 ($25 in advance; $27 at the door) and the dynamic blues double-bill of Coco Montoya and Tinsley Ellis at 7pm on Sunday, March 31 ($45 in advance; $47 at the door).
Greater Nippertown bluegrass heroes the Gibson Brothers are headed into the Park Theater in Glens Falls for a concert at 7:30pm on Saturday, February 9. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $32; VIP $77.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Steve Earle, the Robert Cray Band, Joe Louis Walker and Joan Osborne have been added to the concert calendar for The Egg in Albany. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 11am on Friday (January 4).
