The Van Dyck in Schenectady has added a pair of new shows to its music schedule. The Alex Skolnick Trio’s Conundrum Tour lands at 8pm on Friday, January 11 ($20), and guitarslinger Johnny A. plays a solo show culled from the ’60s British songbook, “Just Me …and My Guitars,” at 8pm on Saturday, January 12 ($18).

The December concert calendar at Colony in Woodstock is highlighted by Acoustically Speaking (a soulful acoustic tribute to the Grateful Dead) at 8pm Thursday, December 6 ($15 in advance; $20 at the door); the Plimsouls’ Holiday Spectacular at 8pm Thursday December 13 ($10 in advance; $20 at the door); Clip Payne’s 420 Funk Mob and DJ Majic Juan at 9pm Saturday, December 22 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door); and the Eric Redd Movement’s Christmas Dance Party at 8pm Sunday, December 23 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: James Taylor brings his all-star band back to Tanglewood in Lenox for a two-night stand this summer. Meanwhile, mandolin master and host Chris Thile leads the live broadcast of “Live From Here” to kick off Tanglewood’s summer season.

In Albany, the Hollow Bar + Kitchen hosts Arkells’ Rally Cry Tour with the Greeting Committee opening the show at 9pm on Thursday, February 28.

Vapor in Saratoga Springs plays host to 100.9 The Cat’s special holiday, acoustic country concert at 7pm on Thursday, December 13, featuring Morgan Evans, the James Barker Band, Abby Anderson and Seth Ennis. Listen to the radio station to find win tickets to the show.

RE-SCHEDULED: The Ballroom Thieves’ concert at the College of St. Rose’s Massry Center for the Arts were postponed by last week’s snowstorm, but it’s been rescheduled for Thursday, December 13 with Odetta Hartman opening the show.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: ’90 R&B hitmaker Keith Sweat and Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons tribute band December ’63 have been booked into Rivers Casino and Resort Event Center in Schenectady.

Woodstock Playhouse will host the annual Winter Solstice Concert, curated and hosted by folk veteran Happy Traum with many of Woodstock’s favorite musicians singing a combination of holiday and American classics. A benefit for the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild, the concert takes place at 8pm on Saturday, December 15. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $27, $47 & $67.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Neil Young tribute band Broken Arrow is headed into the Cohoes Music Hall. Tickets are on sale now.

Up in Clifton Park, the Upstate Concert Hall serves up a double dose of international metal. Dutch symphonic rockers Delain will be joined by Amorphis and Anneke Van Giersbergen at 7pm on Sunday, September 22 ($25 in advance; $30 at the door), and Finnish power metal bands Sonata Arctica and Battle Beast team up at 8pm on Thursday, October 17 ($26 in advance; $30 t the door).

Chadwick Stokes & The Pintos ride into the Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock at 8pm on Saturday, January 19. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $31 & $46.

RE-SCHEDULED: Arc Iris’ concert at Colony in Woodstock was also knocked out by the snowstorm, but it’s been re-scheduled for January 3.
