MUSIC: The Wood Brothers @ Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy. Brothers Chris (upright bass) and Oliver Wood (guitars), as well as multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix, have played numerous concerts both big and small throughout Greater Nippertown, but tonight is their Troy Music Hall debut. MUSIC: Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. The California-based group began as rockabilly revivalists in the 1980’s, pulling together music from rock & roll, honky-tonk, rhythm & blues, soul and doo-wop. With 14 albums under their belt and a spot in the Rockabilly Hallof Fame, Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys have gained a devoted following and show no sign of slowing down. 7pm. $24.

MUSIC: The T’N’T Tour: Tommy Castro & The Painkillers and Tinsley Ellis @ The Egg, Albany. An explosive blues double-bill with Castro and Ellis each performing a full headline-length set. 8pm. $34-$44.

COMEDY: Amy Schumer @ the Palace Theatre, Albany. After a surprise performance at the Mopco Theatre this summer, the stand-up comedian and actor returns for a show on the big stage. 7:30pm. $32. $52.50, $72.50 & $128.

THEATER: Casse Noisette (The Nutcracker) @ Bridge Street Theatre, Catskill. The world premiere of Philadelphia-based playwright Michael Whistler’s brilliant, funny and touching play is described by its author as “the story of a very quiet man and some very loud music,” masterfully interweaving the life of Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky with that of a deeply-closeted modern-day American high school teacher obsessed with Tchaikovsky’s music. Sugar plum fairies and phone sex workers collide… 7:30pm. Through Sunday, November 18.

MUSIC: Robbie Fulks @ the Parlor Room, Northampton. The Americana fave is back in Greater Nippertown once again. 7pm. $25.

THEATER: Million Dollar Quartet @ Cohoes Music Hall, Cohoes. The music of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash comes to life in this incredible true story of one night when these four icons came together to play at Sun Records. MUSIC/JAM SESSION: Blues Pro Jam @ Club Helsinki, Hudson. The region’s top musicians will join together for an evening of jamming. This time out, the core band will feature Jay Collins (sax, keys), Myles Mancuso (guitar, vocals), Jeremy Baum (keys), Kyle Esposito (bass, vocals) and Sonny Rock (drums). 8pm. FREE.

FILM: “Just Like Being There” @ Opalka Gallery, Albany. In the gig poster community, artists such as Daniel Danger and Jay Ryan prove that creating this artwork is a way of life, more than just a career. Followed by a Q&A led by Nathan Meltz and graphic designer Philip Pascuzzo. 6:30pm. FREE.
