Saratoga Arts Fall Soirée honors Mona Golub and James Kettlewell for their immeasurable contributions to the Greater Nippertown cultural scene. The evening will feature jazz fusion by the New Edge, light fare, a cash bar and a silent auction including vacation packages, unique works of art and more. 5:30pm. $75; age 35 & under $35.

ART/FUNDRAISER: Work of Art @ the Albany Institute of History & Art, Albany. A contemporary art auction to benefit local artists and the Albany Institute. Bid on the silent auction to add art to your home or find the perfect gift. Enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and drinks from Mazzone Catering, and help us honor Michael Oatman, RPI professor and acclaimed contemporary artist, on an evening to celebrate art in Greater Nippertown. 5:30pm. MUSIC: Gwar @ Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. Be prepared to be drenched in blood while you band yer head to the sounds of Gwar’s latest, The Blood of Gods. With Miss May I and American Sharks. 8pm. $22.

THEATER: Million Dollar Quartet @ Cohoes Music Hall, Cohoes. The music of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash comes to life in this incredible true story of one night when these four icons came together to play at Sun Records. FILM: “The Great Buster: A Celebration” @ Proctors’ GE Theatre, Schenectady. Directed by Peter Bogdanovich, this documentary feature pays tribute to celluloid pioneer and comic mastermind Buster Keaton. 4 & 7pm. $6-$9. Also at 3, 5:15 & 7:30pm Friday.
