“Capital Records Live!” Celebrates the Hits of 1969 at Proctors [Berkshire on Stage]
Volume two of the new Proctors series “Capital Records Live!” represents the next step in an effort to shine a brighter light on the Local 518 music scene, with performances by Dark Honey, the North & South Dakotas, The Sea The Sea and Bad Mothers at 7:30pm Sunday (October 14) in Proctors’ GE Theatre.
The initial edition, in March, was based on The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and The Beatles (more commonly known as The White Album). The next event will focus on the Billboard charts of 1969, with video content keeping all the music in context.
The only thing the events have in common is that each features a number of Greater Nippertown’s top musical acts.
“Each event in the ‘Capital Records Live!’ series is an opportunity to bring local musicians to a new audience through music both artists and fans know and love,” says co-founder Jim Murphy, Proctors Collaborative marketing and corporate relations director. “But there are no ground rules with this project. Each event is unique unto itself.
“This is based on projects I’ve seen in other markets across the U.S. The exciting part is over time these collaborations can evolve in so many ways that may not be immediately apparent today,” he adds.
