Oliver Trager Brings Lord Buckley to Life at the Guthrie Center [Berkshire on Stage]

Dig Infinity! The Return of Lord Buckley, the Hip Messiah
Written & Performed by Oliver Trager
Friday (October 5), 8pm
at the Guthrie Center, Great Barrington

Legendary bohemian icon Lord Richard Buckley (1906-1960) was the coolest cat and a truly original American performer. As a jazz humorist, cosmic storyteller, earthy philosopher and gospel rapper, he combined African-American argot and the King’s English in celebrating the Bible, Shakespeare and history. Dig Infinity! spins his life story while musing the importance of truth and ventures to the Dark Lands as he bargains for his very soul.

“Trager’s portrayal of Lord Buckley is astonishing. I was mesmerized by his mastery of Buckley’s cadence, hipster slang and aristocratic snobbery. He fully embodies the character from head to toe …” – The New Yorker
