Originally slated to play O’Brien’s Public House back in June, the all-star Split Squad – guitarist Eddie Munoz (The Plimsouls), drummer Clem Burke (Blondie), bassist Michael Giblin (Parallax Project), guitarist Keith Streng (The Fleshtones) and keyboardist Josh Kantor (Fenway Park, yes, really) – finally returns to Troy for a show at the River Street Pub in Troy at 5pm on Saturday, October 20. The Jagaloons will open the show. Tickets are available now, priced at $15 in advance; $20 at the door.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Phenom banjo duo Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn, Monterey Jazz Festival on Tour (featuring vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant, trumpeter Bria Skonberg, pianist Christian Sands and others) and the world renowned Vienna Boys Choir will all be taking the stage at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall this season. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (September 28).
The Americana husband-and-wife team of Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams returns to Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock at 8pm on Saturday, November 17 with Fife & Drom opening the show. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $45 & $65.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Kris Kristofferson teams up with Merle Haggard’s band, The Strangers, for a concert at The Egg’s Hart Theatre. Also at The Egg, the postponed concert by The Yardbirds has been rescheduled.
The Boston-based seven-piece band Ripe is headed into the Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany at 9pm on Thursday, November 8 in support of their debut album, Joy in the Wild Unknown. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (September 28), priced at $14 in advance; $18 at the door.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Egg announced two more new concerts – The Jayhawks and the Watkins Glen Tribute Concert featuring Live at the Fillmore, Dead on Live and the Last Waltz Live. Tickets for both shows go on sale to the general public at 11am on Friday (September 28).
The acoustic show “Xmas Strings with Michale Graves” brings a bit of offbeat holiday spirit to the Hangar on the Hudson in Troy at 3pm on Saturday, December 15. Opening for the former singer-songwriter of The Misfits will be Bad Mothers and Ike’s Wasted World. Admission is $5 with non-perishable food items donation. Also at the Hangar, it’s the return of Frog Holler at 8pm on Saturday, November 3 ($TBA).

If you’re looking for a post-Phish after-party on October 16, check the Stax Tribute to Booker T & the MG’s featuring Dopapod’s Rob Compa with Josh Dobbs (Dead Set) and Russ Lawton and Tony Markellis (both of the Trey Anastasio Band). The show takes place at Albany’s Upper Room at 11pm. Tickets are on sale now priced at $15.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: RBRM – the reunion of New Edition’s Bobby Brown and Bell Biv DeVoe – is headed into Albany’s Palace Theatre this fall with Case and Kid Capri opening the show. Tickets are on sale now.
At the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, Professor Louie & The Crowmatix team up with the Woodstock Horns for the annual birthday celebration of the music of The Band’s Rick Danko at 9pm on Saturday, December 29. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $20 in advance; $25 at the door.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Cohoes Music Hall has bolstered its calendar with the additions of the Brubeck Brothers Quartet and Eastbound Jesus.
POSTPONED: The concert by Keaggy, Levin & Marotta that was originally scheduled for Woodstock’s Bearsville Theater on October 18 has been postponed to 8pm on Thursday, February 28. Tickets are priced at $25 in advance; $30 at the door, and tickets for the original date will be honored for the February concert.
Colony in Woodstock hosts Circlestock, a benefit concert for Circle of Friends for the Dying, at 8pm on Friday, October 5, featuring the Big Takeover and Blueberry. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $40 & $50. And if you’re lookin’ for laughs, check out “The Daily Show Writers Stand-up Tour” featuring David Angelo, Matt Koff, Kat Radley and Joe Opio at 8pm on Friday, December 21. Tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door.
