Win FREE TICKETS to Delgrés at the Sanctuary for Independent Media on Wednesday
As usual, the Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy is kicking off its fall concert season with something decidedly off the beaten path – Delgrés, who take the stage at 7pm on Wednesday (September 27).
The deep roots trio – featuring guitarist-vocalist Pascal Danae, Sousaphonist Rafgee Gouthière and drummer Baptiste Brondy – blends French Caribbean and New Orleans musical styles for an all-new sound that can be heard on their debut album Mo Jodi, released earlier this year.
The trio was founded on a whim by award winning Guadelupean composer-musician Pascal Danae, who was inspired by New Orleans jazz fusion, bringing together Brondy (a previous bandmate in Rivière Noire) and jazz horn player Gouthière. The critically acclaimed, radical roots group sings mainly in Creole, with dance worthy tracks that encourage pause and reflection.
