WHAT: Music on Mainstreet
WHO: Kara Grainger
WHERE: The Canajoharie High School’s Arkell Theater, Canajoharie
WHEN: Tuesday, August 7, 2018

The Australian native, now residing near Los Angeles, played songs from her five albums including the recent Living With Your Ghost. Playing acoustic slide and electric blues, the singer-songwriter played original songs as well as such covers as “Come on in My Kitchen,” “I’ll Make Love to You Anytime” and “Feel Like Breaking Up Someone’s Home.”

The threat of rain moved the show to the rainsite away from the downtown crowd in Canajoharie which was gathered for an outdoor festival. On the other hand, it whittled the audience down to a group who really wanted to listen to her play without distractions, and they were rewarded with two
riveting sets.

UPCOMING: The Music on Mainstreet concert series concludes on Tuesday (August 28) with a 7pm concert by the Mark May Band, led by the former Dickey Betts & Great Southern guitarist. The concert will take place on the lawn of the NBT Bank in Canajoharie, and admission is free.
