Troy Savings Bank Music Hall Announces Six New Concerts
The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall has announced a half dozen new concerts for the upcoming 2018-2019 season.
Tickets to the new concerts are currently available exclusively to members of the Music Hall and will go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (August 3).
Here are the details for the new concerts:
Friday, November 9, 8pm
The breezy songs of the California native combine the earnest sentiments of activist folk with briskly sweet-natured pop. With hits like “Ain’t No Reason” and “Wild Child,” he’s proved he can create big pop songs complete with splashy keyboards, catchy hooks and danceable beats, yet can just as easily strip his sound down to just his voice and a guitar with equally captivating results.
THE KLEZMATICS: WOODY GUTHRIE’S HAPPY JOYOUS HANUKKAH

The Klezmatics wrote new music for the “lost” lyrics that the iconic Woody Guthrie penned about Hanukkah,
about Jewish history and about spiritual life. Deftly intermingling Klezmer with American folk and bluegrass, Woody Guthrie’s Happy Joyous Hanukkah is destined to become a holiday classic for generations to come.

After being featured on Vashawn Mitchell’s “Chasing After You” off the Grammy-nominated Triumphant, Trey McLaughlin & the Sounds of Zamar have become sought after all over the world for their expressive vocals and intricate arrangements of classic gospel hymns. The group has made a name for themselves by performing with such gospel greats as William McDowell, Kierra “Kiki” Sheard, Richard Smallwood, Earnest Pugh and James Fortune.

Maria Schneider’s music has been hailed by critics as “evocative, majestic, magical, heart-stoppingly gorgeous, and beyond categorization.” She and her orchestra became widely known starting in 1994 when they released their first recording, Evanescence. There, Schneider began to develop her personal way of writing for what would become her 18-member collective, made up of many of the finest musicians in jazz today, tailoring her compositions to distinctly highlight the uniquely creative voices of the group, which has performed at festivals and concert halls worldwide.

The acclaimed Irish band Lúnasa is currently on tour celebrating their 20th Anniversary and their new album Cas, which features the former 10,000 Maniacs vocalist Natalie Merchant, who also makes an appearance on the album track “The Bonny Light Horseman.”
