MUSIC: Freddy & Francine @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. Shortly after meeting as cast members of a 2008 Hollywood Met Theatre production of “Hair,” Bianca Caruso and Lee Ferris teamed up to embark upon what would become a series of late night songwriting sessions. Though the songs created from these late night writing sessions were originally intended for the duo’s respective solo performances, it became abundantly clear that these co-creations should be performed in tandem. 7pm. $18.

MUSIC: UpBeat on the Roof @ Skidmore College’s Tang Museum, Saratoga Springs. Golfstrom defines their music as “vintage old-world music.” So what exactly is that? Popular music of the 1930s-’60s from regions in Europe and America. MUSIC: Bang on a Can Gallery Recital @ MASS MoCA, North Adams. Ken Thomson and Banglewood fellows perform new dynamic, introspective and aggressive works for clarinet and string quartet, including one work-in-progress and one premiere.
