The Egg has announced four new shows slated for the fall concert season. Tickets are currently available exclusively to members of The Egg and will go on sale to the general public at 11am on Tuesday (July 11), unless otherwise noted.
Here are the details for the new concerts:
“LETTERS FROM HOME”
Sunday, September 23, 3pm
$27; veterans $23; VIP $50 (on sale now)
Featuring America’s Bombshell Duo (Courtney Groves & Erinn Diaz) in a show completely in the spirit and style of the ’40s. Their vocal harmonies, charming personalities and energized tap dancing are sure to revive your patriotic passion.
VUSI MAHLASELA’S “TOWNSHIP”
Thursday, October 25, 7:30pm
Known simply as “The Voice” in his home country of South Africa, the singer-songwriter-guitarist-poet and his band will perform “Township” – an uplifting special tribute to the music of Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, Dorothy Masuka and Brenda Fassie – and celebrating the 100th birthday of global peacemaker Nelson Mandela and nearly 25 years of freedom from apartheid.
Thursday, November 1, 8pm
Over the course of 25 years and ten albums, they’ve quietly become one of America’s national music treasures. Featuring Tommy Malone (guitar), John Magnie (accordion), Steve Amedée (percussion) and Tim Cook (bass), the band draws their inspiration from their native New Orleans, blending blues, gospel, funk and R&B into their soulful repertoire and return to The Egg with a brand new album of original songs.
JOHN SCOFIELD’S 66 COMBO
Friday, December 7, 8pm
The guitarslinger teams up with pianist Gerald Clayton, bassist Vicente Archer and drummer Bill Stewart in a new band that builds upon the Grammy-winning jazz guitarist’s long legacy of masterful improvisation and stylistic diversity.
