The Egg Announces Four New Concerts
The folks at The Egg are already looking forward to next year, and they’ve announced the first three concerts of their 2019 schedule… and one more for later this year.
Tickets for the three 2019 shows are are currently available exclusively to members of The Egg and will go on sale to the general public at 11am on Tuesday (June 26).
Here are the details for the new concerts:
DARLINGSIDE featuring THE MAINE YOUTH ROCK ORCHESTRA
Saturday, January 12, 9pm
Without a doubt the most distinctive contemporary folk-pop vocal ensemble of the day, Darlingside delivers a truly moving blend of subtlety and power. Performing on cello, violin, strings, guitar, mandolin and percussion as well as electronic instruments, their unique songcraft will be further enhanced by the Maine Youth Rock Orchestra.
THE BAD PLUS
Friday, February 8, 8pm
The Bad Plus is a collaborative jazz trio that has constantly searched for rules to break and boundaries to cross and bridging genres and techniques while exploring the infinite possibilities of three exceptional musicians that work in perfect sync. Founding members – bassist Reid Anderson and drummer Dave King – are joined by their new pianist Orrin Evans to perform in support of their latest recording Never Stop II.
WE BANJO 3
Friday, March 22, 8pm
Ireland’s We Banjo 3 finds new common ground between old world tradition and contemporary Americana music by plying their multi-award winning banjo, fiddle, guitar and mandolin in an innovation fusion of styles that they dub “Celtgrass.” The band’s rousing revelry, sheer virtuosity, power, passion and purpose have made them one of the day’s most celebrated new acoustic music ensembles.
