MUSIC: Frank Wakefield Band @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. He’s a living legend, one of the enduring figures of bluegrass tradition and one of the most influential mandolinists ever. And he’s celebrating his 84th birthday! 8pm. $26.

MUSIC: Rosanne Cash @ Glimmerglass Opera, Cooperstown. An intimate evening of songs and stories by the sublime singer-songwriter who draws from her rich and distinctive connection to the musical legacy of the American South. Featuring John Leventhal on guitar, Cash will offer songs from her trilogy of award winning albums Black Cadillac, The List and The River & the Thread along with personal stories and reflections. 8pm. $45, $55 & $75.

MUSIC: Harry Connick Jr. @ Tanglewood, Lenox. His career has exemplified excellence across multiple platforms in the entertainment world. He has received Grammy and Emmy awards as well as Tony nominations for his live and recorded musical performances, his achievements in film and television and his appearances on Broadway as both an actor and a composer. Tonight he pays tribute to the tricentennial of his hometown – the great city of New Orleans. 7pm. $33-$135.

MUSIC/FUNDRAISER: An Evening with Sally Taylor & Friends @ MASS MoCA’s Hunter Center, North Adams. An intimate concert celebrating the opening of “Come to Your Senses” – the exhibit curated by Sally Taylor in MASS MoCA’s Kidspace – Sally Taylor, Ben Taylor, Sophie Hiller, Eric Erdman and John Forte, formerly of the Fugees, with a dance performance by Alison Manning & Jesse Keller.
