MUSIC: Lou Barlow @ the Spotty Dog, Hudson. A founding member of Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh and the Folk Implosion, the champion of lo-fi plays an intimate set at the bookstore/bar. Get there early… 8pm. $10.

DANCE: National Ballet of Cuba @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs. It’s the opening night of a three night stand. Based on a fairy tale about a peasant girl who falls in love with a dashing prince disguised as a commoner, “Giselle” follows its heroine through a haunting story of betrayal, heartbreak, forgiveness and redemption. 8pm. With a pre-performance talk by dance writer Toba Singer at 7pm.

MUSIC: Alta Havana @ SPAC’s Hall of Springs, Saratoga Springs.
