MUSIC: Joe K. Walsh @ the Cock ‘n Bull, Galway. After his previously scheduled show was snowed out, the acclaimed mandolin master returns. He’s toured with countless artists, collaborated with other master musicians like Darol Anger and the Gibson Brothers, founded the progressive stringband Joy Kills Sorrow in the early 2000s, and is currently on faculty at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. 7:30pm. $15.
THEATER: Typhoid Mary @ Barrington Stage Company’ St. Germain Stage, Pittsfield. Matthew Penn directs Mark St. Germain’s searing drama about Mary Mallon (aka Typhoid Mary) and the controversy surrounding her steadfast conviction in her beliefs. The play not only examines the woman behind the myths, but also explores the battle between science and religion. 7:30pm. UPDATE: This performance is now officially sold out. Through Saturday, June 16.
THEATER: The Curious End of Ezekiel Williams @ the Colonial Theatre, Pittsfield. As Inspector Dullard strives to justify the murder of an innocent man, a story of brotherhood, broken bonds and rebirth is uncovered in this original play is written and directed by Monument Mountain Regional High School student Benjamin Zoeller. 7pm. FREE.
OPEN MIC: “The Wrong Show” @ River Street Pub, Troy. Definitely not your typical open mic, this is a cash prize talent game show hosted by Ragliacci with three guest judges assigned the task of scoring the wackiest, wiliest and weirdest performances this side of the Hudson. 7:30pm sign-up; 8pm start. FREE admission; $5 to compete.
