FILM: “More Than Words: The Photography of Newsman Bob Paley”

Bob Paley, a photographer with Albany’s now-defunct Knickerbocker News, was described as a poet with a camera. Often with a single photo, Paley captured the mood, the moment and the meaning of the forces that rocked mid-twentieth century America. He could see that one image in a complex series of events that conveyed more than words.

Bob Paley’s daughter, filmmaker Mary Paley – who previous helmed the 2013 documentary “The Neighborhood That Disappeared” about the building of Albany’s Empire State Plaza and the neighborhood that it displaced – has teamed up with Jon Russell Cring to co-direct the new feature-length doc, “More Than Words: The Photography of Newsman Bob Paley.”

The new film, which has been in production for the past two years, is slated to have its premiere next month. Stay tuned for details…
