MUSIC: Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy @ the Cohoes Music Hall, Cohoes. Following the death of Greg Lake in 2016, the drummer and only surviving member of Emerson, Lake & Palmer embarked on the “Emerson, Lake & Palmer Lives On!” World Tour in 2017, and he brings it back to Greater Nippertown tonight. 8pm. $27, $32 & $37.
MUSIC: Carbon Leaf @ the Hollow Bar & Kitchen, Albany. In support of their new album, Gathering Vol. 1 and their 25th anniversary, the Virginia-based band blends rock, folk, Celtic, bluegrass and Americana elements into a high-energy style the group calls “ether-electrified porch music.” 8pm. $20.
FILM: “Sembene!” @ Sanctuary for Independent Media, Troy. Samba Gadjigo and Jason Silver’s documentary film focuses on Ousmane Sembène, the African freedom fighter who used stories as his weapon and blazed the trail for generations of writers, filmmakers and scholars. 7pm. $10.
MUSIC: Ana Popovic @ Iron Horse Music Hall, Northampton. Born in Belgrade, she has developed into a phenomenal blues-rock guitarist-vocalist with a growing legion of fans around the world. She’s been nominated for five Blues Music Awards and appeared on the cover of Vintage Guitar and Guitar Player magazine. 7pm. $30.
FILM: Three Stooges Film Festival @ the Palace Theatre, Albany. Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck… Curly, Larry & Moe (and sometimes Shemp) return to the big scree at the Palace for the annual 3 Stooges short film fest.
