Patty Griffin teams up with Richard Thompson in Woodstock

British guitar hero Richard Thompson and golden-voiced Texan Patty Griffin – both exquisite songwriters – team up for a two night stand at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock. The intimate acoustic performances will take place at 8pm on Friday & Saturday, July 13 & 14. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (April 13), priced at $125 for seating; $75 for standing room. Also new on the calendar at Levon Helm Studios is Laith Al-Saadi, a 2016 finalist on “The Voice,” who steps into the spotlight at 8pm on Saturday May 19. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $25 & $35.

Hometown heroes The Figgs are returning to the Low Beat in Albany to play a benefit concert for Mike McGrath at 8pm on Friday, May 18.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Fresh from his performance on NBC-TV’s live broadcast of Jesus Christ Superstar on Easter Sunday, the one and only Alice Cooper is bringing his Paranormal Evening Tour to Albany’s Palace Theatre. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (appropriately enough, Friday the 13th).

POSTPONED…AGAIN: Super blues singer Shemekia Copeland and her band were originally scheduled to take the stage at Club Helsinki in Hudson on Friday, February 23. That date was postponed to Saturday (April 14), but now that date has also been postponed. The new date is 9pm on Saturday, July 14. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $25 & $30.

Nicole Atkins rolls into Bearsville Theater in Woodstock at on Saturday, May 5 with Indianola opening the show at 9pm. Tickets are $25, $30 & $40.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Kid Rock and Brantley Gilbert are teaming up for the Red Blooded Rock N Roll Redneck Extravaganza, which is scheduled to make a stop at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center this summer with Wheeler Walker Jr. opening the show. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (April 13).

In Hudson, Club Helsinki has added a number of new shows, including Scott Petito’s all-star Joni Mitchell tribute band Shadows and Light at 9pm on Saturday, May 5 ($25 & $30); ska-and-reggae faves the Big Takeover at 9pm on Friday, May 25 ($15); Boss Hog at 9pm on Saturday, June 9 ($20 & $25); Nelson and The Wolf at 8pm on Monday, June 18 ($10); and the return of the rollicking roots-rocker J.D. McPherson and his band at 8pm on Tuesday, July 24 ($25-$35; on sale at 12noon on Friday).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The recently knighted Sir Ringo Starr heads into the Saratoga Performing Arts Center with his All Starr Band featuring members of Toto, Santana, 10cc, Men at Work and more. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (April 13).

Colony in Woodstock has bolstered its concert calendar with the addition of Tom Pacheco’s 19th annual Memorial Day weekend concert at 8pm on Saturday, May 26 ($15 in advance; $18 at the door); Jim Weider’s Project Percolator at 8pm on Sunday, May 27 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door); and The Slackers with Los Thujones at 8pm on Sunday, June 3 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Fresh from their begoggling performance at MASS MoCA, Montreal post-rockers Godspeed You! Black Emperor are headed into Basilica Hudson in Hudson for a concert to benefit the arts venue. Tickets are on sale now.

Up-and-coming country singers Cale Dodds, Trent Harmon, Jordan Davis and Devin Dawson will be playing The Cat’s Class of 2018 concert at Vapor in Saratoga Springs. Admission is by invitation only, so check out 100.9 The CAT to win tickets.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Harry Connick Jr. is celebrating the tricentennial of his hometown, New Orleans, with a special concert at Tanglewood in Lenox. Tickets are on sale now.

Jupiter Hall in Guilderland will play host to Hail Sagan with American Grim on Sunday, June 24. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $12 in advance; $15 at the door.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Former Creedence Clearwater Revival bandleader John Fogerty is slated to step into the spotlight at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center this summer for a pavilion-only concert. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 12noon on Friday (April 13).

CANCELLED: The performance by Tekashi69, which was originally slated for Saturday (April 14) at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park, has been cancelled. Refunds are available at the place of purchase.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Founding members Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell lead ’70s hitmakers America into The Egg’s Hart Theatre in Albany. Tickets are on sale now.

SOLD OUT: The concert by They Might Be Giants at The Egg’s Hart Theatre at 7pm on Sunday, April 22 is now officially sold out. And WGNA’s Secret Star Acoustic Jam at Proctors in Schenectady on Wednesday, April 25 is now officially sold out, too.
