MUSIC: Bill Murray, Jan Vogler and Friends: New Worlds @ Proctors, Schenectady. The “Saturday Night Live” alum serves up an evening that showcases the core of the American values in literature and music. He’s joined by Jan Vogler (cello), Mira Wang (violin) and Vanessa Perez (piano) in a show that features the works of Twain, Hemingway, Whitman, Cooper, Bernstein, Gershwin and Foster. 7:30pm. $50–$279.

MUSIC: The Lionel Loueke Trio @ Williams College’s Chapin Hall, Williamstown. The acclaimed African guitarist-vocalist – who has been featured on such jazz albums as Terence Blanchard’s Bounce and Flow, Charlie Haden’s Land of the Sun and Herbie Hancock’s Possibilities – is joined by Massimo Biolcati (bass) and Ferenc Nemeth (drums). 8pm.
