0

In support of his newly published book, “Uncharted: Creativity and the Expert Drummer,” Bill Bruford will give a talk at UAlbany’s Performing Arts Center’s Room B-78 at 2:30pm on Tuesday, April 10.

The musicologist, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and acclaimed drummer (whose resume includes stints in Yes, King Crimson, Gong, National Health, Genesis, Earthworks, U.K. and more) will speak on the topic “Give the Drummer Some: Modelling Creativity in Popular Music Performance.”

Bruford’s lecture – he will not be performing – will ask: “What do expert drummers do? Why do they do it? Is there anything creative about it? If so, how might that creativity inform their practice and that of others in related artistic spheres?”

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session. Admission is FREE.
