THEATER: “The Charlie Play” @ Collar Works, Troy. Troy Foundry Theatre presents a staged reading of Nahal Navidar’s play. For as long as Nessa can remember, it’s been her and her dog, Charlie. Charlie, her confidant. Charlie, her best friend. And Charlie is dying. Two weeks away from attaining her MFA in Art, Nessa’s heart and mind must find the equilibrium between logic and love and create one last art piece despite Charlie’s rapidly impending death. Directed by Brenna Geffers. 7:30pm. FREE.

MUSIC: The Everafter @ Pauly’s Hotel, Albany. With The Wildcard and Luciano Ferrara. 7:30pm. $7.

MUSIC: The Festival of Contemporary Music @ the UAlbany Performing Arts Center, Albany. The University Percussion Ensemble is joined by the three percussion ensembles of the Empire State Youth Orchestra for Lukas Foss’ “Quartet for Percussion” and the world premiere of 14-year-old Lenox freshman Jacob Fanto’s “Mythical Realms.” 7pm. $6; students & seniors $3.

MUSIC: Corey Dandridge’s World of Gospel Residency @ The Falcon, Marlboro. 7pm. Donation encouraged.

FILM/TALK: Ulysses Jenkins @ EMPAC at RPI, Troy. Focused on the work of the video/performance artist, the evening will feature a half dozen documentary and performance videos the artist made from the 1970s to the present. Jenkins will be making a rare East Coast appearance to introduce his films and discuss his work with the audience. 7pm. $6.

OPEN MIC: Monday Open Mic @ Caffe Lena, Saratoga Springs. 7pm sign-up; 7:30pm music.

    Yet again Nippertown ignores/or has some beef with publicizing Poets speak Loud with mary Panza at McGearys tonight. The last monday of every month.
