MUSIC: Lunasa @ The Egg’s Swyer Theatre, Albany. The acclaimed acoustic Irish band will be joined by special guest vocalist Natalie Merchant, who also sings on the band’s new album, Cas, their first studio recording in seven years. With the American roots duo banjoist Richie Stearns and fiddler Rosie Newton opening the show. 7:30pm. $34.50.
MUSIC: Miguel @ the Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park. In support of his fourth studio album, War & Leisure, the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter heads to Clifton Park following his recent appearance singing the Oscar-winning song “Remember Me,” from Coco at the Academy Awards. With SiR and Nonchalant Savant. 8pm. $42.50.
MUSIC: Kitchen Ceili @ Crandall Public Library’s Folklife Center, Glens Falls. Featuring George Wilson on fiddle, banjo and vocals; Dora Hast on tin whistle and recorders; and Stan Scott on guitar, mandolin, banjo, and vocals, the trio serves up healthy portions of driving reels and lilting jigs and hornpipes, as well as stately waltzes, slow airs and old and new songs of emigrants, soldiers, lovers, lawyers and computer programmers from both sides of the Atlantic. 7pm. TALK: “HERsterical: A Woman’s Guide to Stand-up Comedy” @ Hudson Valley Community College’s Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium, Troy. In addition to her job as one of Greater Nippertown’s most popular singer-songwriter, Erin Harkes has also been doing stand-up comedy for the past five years. 12noon. FREE.
THEATER: “Curtains” @ Schenectady Light Opera, Schenectady. Directed by Adam M. Coons, the musical mystery “whodunit” follows the story of a theater as they cope with a murder on opening night. Chaos and comedy ensue… 8pm. $22-$28. Through Sunday, March 18.
COMEDY: JR De Guzman @ The Garage, Pittsfield. Combining music and comedy, JR serenades the audience into laughter with songs, jokes and stories of traveling the world, life after college, and family. 7:30pm. $5.
MUSIC: Cassatt String Quartet @ Williams College’s Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall, Williamstown. The program features String Quartet op. 74 “Harp” in E flat major by Beethoven; the String Quartet “Culai” by Lev “Ljova” Zhurbin; and, joined by pianist Doris Stevenson for Antonin Dvorak’s Piano Quintet No. 2 in A Major, op. 81. 8pm.
