NEW CONCERTS: New Concert Announcements

The Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park has added a handful of big new shows, including rapper Fetty Wap at 8pm on Friday, February 23 ($30 in advance; $35 at the door; on sale now); KFC-lovin’ former Guns ‘N Roses guitarist Buckethead at 8pm on Thursday, April 5 ($20 in advance; $25 at the door; on sale Friday); and The Neighbourhood at 8pm on Saturday, June 23 ($30 in advance; $33 at the door; on sale Friday).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: In support of his upcoming album Boarding House Reach, 12-time Grammy Award winner Jack White kicks of the outdoor summer concert season at Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday, January 26.

The Cock ‘n Bull continues to ramp up its musical offerings witrh a new line-up that includes Ramblin Jug Stompers at 7:30pm on Friday, January 19 ($10); Rochester funky jazz trio Paradigm Shift at 7pm Sunday, January 28 ($10), Peggy & the Delivery Boys at 7:30pm. Thursday, February 1 ($10), Joe K. Walsh & Friends at 7:30pm on Wednesday, February 7 ($10), Allison deGroot & Tatiana Hargraves at 7:30pm on Wednesday, March 7 and the Honey Dewdrops at 7:30pm on Thursday, March 15 ($TBA), Tony Monaco on Sunday, March 18 ($TBA); Scott Sharrard on Thursday, March 22 ($TBA), the Lonely Heartstring Band on Thursday, April 5 ($TBA) and Melissa Greener on Thursday, April 19 ($TBA).

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: After taking last year off, the Dave Matthews Band is heading back out on the road again this summer, and of course, they’ll be making their regular two-night stand at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, February 2.

Matt & Kim return to the Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany at 8pm on Thursday, March 8. Priced at $25 in advance; $28 at the door, tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Friday (January 19). Other new shows at the Hollow include Cousin Earth with Ampevene at 9:30pm on Friday, February 9 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door); The Werks at 8pm on Sunday, February 11 ($15); Lespecial at 9pm on Friday, February 16 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door); The Academic at 9pm on Sunday, February 18 ($10.27 in advance; $15 at the door); moe. after party featuring Floodwood with Space Carnival at 11pm on Friday, February 23 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door); moe. after party with Electric Beethoven at 11pm on Saturday, February 24 ($15 in advance; $20 at the door; $15 with moe. ticket); and Phish tribute band The Lizards at 9:30pm on Friday, March 2 ($12 in advance; $15 at the door).

Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs wraps up the month with a batch of top-notch shows, including a CD release party for Tracy Grammer on Thursday; Wild Adriatic-goes-acoustic on Friday; Nova Scotia singer-songwriter Ben Caplan with opener Zan Strumfeld on Sunday; veteran troubadour Bill Staines on Friday, January 26; joyous folk-popsters Kuinka with Spa City faves Ramblers Home on Saturday, January 27; and a tribute concert to the late great Frank Jaklitsch featuring Good Things, Kevin McKrell, Amy Collins and more on Sunday, January 28.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Five new concerts have been announced for the Cohoes Music Hall including comedy shows by Rory Albanese and the Gender Defenders, as well as music by blues-rock guitarslinger Ana Popovic, the Garcia Project and a Mardi Gras celebration with Justin Henricks & Friends with Girl Blue.

The Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock has beefed up its concert slate with the addition of several new shows, including the Weight Band at 8pm on Saturday, February 17 ($45 & $65); Jorma Kaukonen at 8pm on Saturday, March 10 ($75 & $85); and Shovels & Rope at 8pm on Saturday, March 24 ($45 & $75).

Throw me some beads, mister! Celebrate Mardi Gras – the real Mardi Gras on Tuesday, February 13 – at the Parish Public House in Albany with Jocamo pumping out the Big Easy funk for a free show beginning at 7pm.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: A Taste for Country Music Festival at Hunter Mountain has added a batch of 10 new performers to the line-up for the four-day fest, including Justin Moore, Dustin Lynch, LeAnn Rimes, Montgomery Gentry, Rodney Atkins, Kane Brown, Devin Dawson, Ashley McBryde, Jimmie Allen and Sasha McVeigh.

Bridge Street Theatre in Catskill welcomes back cabaret star Charles Busch for a performance of “My Kinda ’60s” as a benefit for the theater. The performance will take place at 4pm on Saturday, February 24, preceded by a High Tea at 3:30pm and followed by a champagne reception. Tickets are on sale now to subscribers for $50 and will go on sale to the general public on Monday, February 5 for $60.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Saratoga Performing Arts Center welcomes back Kidz Bop Live once again this summer. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday (January 19).

Woodstock favorites Professor Louie & the Crowmatix land at the Upper Room in Albany at 8pm on Friday, March 23. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $15 & $25.

Van Morrison tribute band Moondance returns to the stage at WAMC-FM’s The Linda in Albany at 8pm on Friday, March 2. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $20.

SOLD OUT: Rachael & Vilray’s concert at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs on Saturday (January 20) is now officially sold out… Also on Saturday, the concert by Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall is also sold out… At The Egg performances by Henry Rollins on Saturday (January 20), Greensky Bluegrass on Wednesday, January 24 and the Wood Brothers on Tuesday, January 30 are all now sold out.

In Pittsfield, the Colonial Theatre plays host to the Nashville-based band Fabrizio & the Fever at 7pm on Friday, May 18. Also performing will be Pinedrop with Madelyn Gardner and Carl Wockner. The concert is a benefit for the Richie duPont Scholarship Fund to send children to Berkshire Theatre Group PLAYS! Summer Camp, and tickets are $15, $25 & $50.

Rivers Casino in Schenectady continues its first anniversary celebration with its All-Star Bands Concert at the Event Center on Saturday, February 10. The showcase concert begins at 6pm featuring the bands Audio Riot, Lifespeed, Breakdown, Mirk, Kick and Big Eyed Phish with DJ Trumastr spinning tunes during set changes. Tickets are on sale now, priced at $20.

OPENERS: Chappell Roan has snagged the opening act slot for Declan McKenna at the Hollow Bar + Kitchen in Albany on Saturday, February 24… The Age, Victory Soul Orchestra, Beards and DJ Trumastr will be performing at Putnam Place in Saratoga in support of Wyclef Jean’s Carnival Tour on Friday, March 2… In addition to previously announced Mome, opening acts for Gramatik’s Saturday, April 28 concert at the Upstate Concert Hall now also include Haywyre and Balkan BumpThe Secret Sisters have been added as the support for Brandi Carlile at the Palace Theatre on Sunday, May 6.
