Review and photographs by Rudy Lu

There were so many musical events celebrating New Year’s Eve this year, but if old-school R&B is your jam, and you wanted to stay out of the cold, Proctors’ GE Theatre in Schenectady was the place to be.

Local faves The Chronicles played to an enthusiastic crowd at the GE Theatre where the usual fixed seating configuration was revised for dancing. And dance the crowd did during much of the celebration.

The music ranged from catalog cuts from The Temptations, James Brown and Al Green to their unique cover of the ’80s Tears for Fears classic “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” to their original “Groove for NOLA.”

And the audience did actually get to watch the Times Square ball drop on the Proctors’ gigantic movie screen. What more could you ask for?
