LIVE: King Yellowman @ Alive at Five, 8/3/17
Photographs by Stan Johnson
He released his debut album, Mister Yellowman, 35 years ago, and in the intervening time, King Yellowman has risen to the upper echelon of Jamaica’s reggae artists.
And at the age of 61, he still commands the stage, as he proved earlier this month at Corning Preserve’s Jennings Landing. In the summer finale of Albany’s Alive at Five free concert series, the original king of dancehall reggae was joined by the Sagittarius Band and his daughter K’reema (aka, Kareema Foster).
Opening the show were Albany’s own reggae veterans Dr. Jah & the Love Prophets.
UPCOMING: Yellowman returns to Greater Nippertown for a concert at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock at 8pm on Thursday (August 31). Tickets are on sale now, priced at $20, $30 & $40.
